The hotel was an excellent value for the upscale room, free breakfast buffet with quality and wideselection of hot dishes, and most of all, the front desk was professional and most helpful. Will not hesitate to return and have recommended hotel to our friends.

Everything! We arrived at 10.45 a.m -extremely early, expecting to put our luggage in store then go into the city until it was time to book in. Not so, the receptionist was extremely helpful, looked at the computer, found a room for us which was ready. A twin instead of the double I had ordered but this was not a problem, and we had booked in, settled in to our room and out to explore the city by 11.15a.m.
Being a vegetarian I am usually at the back of the queue when it comes to having quality food prepared and normally end up with some chefs ideas of what vegetarian food is. IT IS NOTHING COMPLICATED so why are so many chefs scared of it?
I give 11/10 to Chef Peter who prepared me such wonderful vegetarian, imaginative and freshly cooked food I was in seventh heaven, all served in the Brasserie. Another member of staff who deserves mention is Tadas who was always there, attentive, and although busy in the dinging room and bar, never gave the impression he was too busy to deal with you,as happens so often. He is a credit to the hotel.
Many of the other staff, with changing shifts I was not able to get all their names, but not once did we have a problem that could not be sorted out i.e. when the previous guests left the safe in the room locked so we could not accesss it to put in our pin no. this was promptly correct. So well done Hotel Rotterdam, we shall be coming back. If anyone has been reading the reviews prior to the change of managament this year, do not be put off by them, as they don't refer to the current management in our experience.

Directions to Hotel were good, very direct, but walking took a little longer than expected with luggage. We found out since, in front of Central Station is a Tourist Information where you can buy all day tickets for tram, metro etc. The tram departs from the front of the station and only two tram stops to hotel. Much easier and used this method when leaving instead of walking with the luggage again. So just a tip which may be helpful.

Too few teabags in room (only two provided) and a cracked cup. This was replaced and tea bags I was able to get from the dining room, but would appreciate it is more were placed on the guest tray in the rooms as standard on not have to obtain them yourself when tired and thirsty after a busy day enjoying Rotterdam.

This hotel has an excellent price for quality. It lies near the centre of Rotterdam where it is quite and comfortable to stay at. Our room had a little balcony, so the sight at the backside of Rotterdam was nice to see. The staff was helpfull with the clients. In the room was no watercooker, but the housekeeping sent one to our room. The breakfast was included and was tastefull. There was a lot of variety and the staff filled the empty food and drinks.

I had a smoking room, but i do not smoke. But this was not a problem because i ventilated the room.

The room was nice and breakfast too. And the cleaning staff was really kind.

In opposition to that receptionist were really bad. They were always absent surfing on the net and laughing inside and not available for customers. We arrived and we were assigned to a room that hadn t been cleaned and it was almost 5 pm. Then they gave us another room. All rooms have electric kettles to warm up water for tea. We wanted to use it to heat water for our 2 months old baby but it didn t work. Once again I had to go to the reception and get another one. But this one had rust inside and we only found out as we were feeding the baby, as there was rust inside his bottle. After that I spoke to one of the cleaning ladies and she was really nice. After explaining our problem she handled the situation herself and this time it worked.

The last day we asked for wake up call and they forgot. After half an hour Mirjam called and made some kind of excuse for her forgetfulness and when I asked what happened she said "It s personal". So these were the receptionist staff in a hotel that without that kind of behavior would be much better. I would advise the owners to review who they have there working
